DEPARTMENT OF RACHANA SHARIRA (Anatomy)

DEPARTMENT OF RACHANA SHARIRA (Anatomy)

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Ayurveda

Academic & Philosophical Foundation

The Rachana Sharira Department imparts knowledge of the Human Anatomy through an integrated approach of Ayurved sharir and modern anatomical sciences. Classical concepts such as Sushrutokta Prana (concepts of life described in Sushruta Samhita along with evolution of universe), Chikitsadhikruta Purusha (living human beings), Kala sharir (Science of various membranes), Marma (Vital structures in the body), Anga–Pratyanga (body parts), and Sharira Pramana (Personalised anthropometric measurements).
The department provides training in human cadaveric dissection, surface anatomy, radiological anatomy and embryology. The teaching learning methods adopted by the department enables the students to develop their visualization skills and better understanding of body parts. Clinical relevance of Marmas (Vital structures) in surgeries and traumatic incidences is explained to students for their better future clinical practices.
The department by means of academic excellence, research orientation, and competency-based learning contributes to UG (B.A.M.S.), PG (M.D. Rachana Sharira), and Ph.D. Rachana Sharira programmes.
